Nortel GGSN V5 Access Module

SysMech have delivered, to specification and schedule, an Access Module to Vodafone Netherlands for the management of their Nortel GGSN V5. The Access Module, based on HP's Internet SNMP Toolkit and SysMech's CrossTalk™ Suite, offers:

• the collection of SNMP traps from the Nortel GGSN V5, and modelling of the traps as events in TeMIP
• extended clear correlation of clearances with the appropriate alarms, using the CrossTalk™ Algorithmic Clear Correlation Plug-in for the CrossTalk™ Alarm Mediation Services
• resynchronisation of SNMP traps from the GGSN with TeMIP, using the CrossTalk™ SNMP ReSync framework

The use of the CrossTalk™ Alarm Mediation Services for clear correlation and mapping of attributes has permitted us to deliver the solution successfully despite tight timescales TeMIP is Vodafone Netherlands's Fault Management umbrella solution for Telco integrations, transmission and limited number of services. The main user of the solution is the NMC, responsible for the 24x7 monitoring of the complete network. The TeMIP solution was recently upgraded to V5 on HP Integrity Servers based on Itanium.
