The Distributed Entity Control Facility (DECF) user application is constructed as a standalone, intranet-based application, presenting a web-based GUI via a standard internet browser.

The DECF Model and Repository Service (REPO) implements a model of the design-time and runtime aspects of the entities under management. Design time entities are templates. Instances of these templates are deployed to particular HP OpenView TeMIP directors and control actions are executed against these instances.

The CrossTalk™ Network Access Subsystem (XNA) is responsible for distribution of entities, querying runtime status and issuing control directives into the HP OpenView TeMIP framework.

Entities currently managed comprise all HP OpenView TeMIP Low Level Event Filter types, CrossTalk™ Alarm Mapper and Logger instances, Mapping rulesets and ASCII based data/script files.
